Huguenots of 16th and 17th Century France fled to the support of England.
The Huguenots were eventually given ship passage and land grants to Virginia in 
exchange for helping to settle the new colonies. 
The Tackett Surname has varied in its spelling, Hence: 
Tacquet, Tackett, Tacket, Tackitt.
My opionion: A tight-knit family, with charismatic and colorful characters to 
its credit. 

* The JONES and TACKETT Families have been present in the America's since the 
establishment of the Original Colonies. Both Families have bleed, fought and 
died for this country in every American Conflict or War.
